This route consists of most of the roads (except the private roads) that make up the Croatan Buck Fifty. These are all open roads – please be respectful of private property used by the official event planners and stick to these open roads. Trust there is enough suffer left for anyone on this route.
The route starts at a small parking area along Hwy 58 and puts you immediately in the gravel. At mile 9.6 you return to hardtop until approximately mile 12. The well renowned Savage Rd. section runs from 26.7 to 29.5 (note: a hard right at 16.2 puts you directly onto Savage Rd. eliminating the OHV road, which has unknown conditions from season to season).
On this route, instead of returning to the start of the CBF route by making a left at 35.3 you continue straight on the hardtop of Hwy 58. Make a left at 35.8 to follow hardtop crossing Hwy 58 along a country road that returns you to the start.
