Ohio
Located in northern Jefferson County, Ohio, on the historic Yellow Creek, the McLain Farm has been in the family since 1858. We are excited to share it with you during the inaugural McLain Farm Gravel Grinder. The three distances include 100, 62.5, and 35 mile options, highlighting some of the best gravel roads in all of eastern Ohio. With great climbs and even better descents, the ride is a mix of 70% gravel and 30% country roads showing off the area’s natural beauty. Our goal is to promote cycling in a rural area and encourage participants to come visit the region throughout the year.
Riders are encouraged to arrive Friday night to check-in, register, setup camp and tour the McLain farm. (There are campgrounds close by with further amenities than are available on the farm) Beer laps in the field alongside music and a bonfire. Race day is Saturday with a post-race hoe-down with food, beer, and music. Race weekend ends on Sunday with a rogue recovery ride on the roads surrounding the farm.
