If you have been following along this season you know I have been trying to get my hands on a new Diverge frameset. The real driver behind that upgrade is the ability to increase tire width. My current Diverge maxes out at 700×38. Joey suggested experimenting with his WTB 650b wheels running WTB Venture 47’s. They had clearance inside my frame so I decided to ride them on a getaway trip to Banner Elk, NC where there are plenty of gravel ups and downs on which to give them a thorough workout.
It didn’t take long to realize this solution gave me the increased tire under the bike that I have been after since riding Rothrock in the spring of the year.
It’s going to be the perfect wheel/tire combo sizing solution for me on this bike.
